Light at the end of the Tunnel

Well yesterday was a bit of a write off.  Probably the most profound thought I had was “I’m going back to bed.”  I had that thought a number of times, and spent a good bit of the day sleeping.
I do feel I have passed hump day though I reckon I look worse than I did, even though I feel better than I was.  Thank you for your good wishes.  One thing about going to bed early is I woke up early.  Though I did go back to bed for a while.
I was incredibly interested to hear a term this morning called “chronological snobbery.”  Why it interested me is that although it is put way better than I ever could. it reflects how I feel the world looks at the past at the moment.  It was a term coined by C.S.Lewis and another and first used in one of Lewis’ books.  Wikipedia says it means “Chronological snobbery is an argument that the thinking, art, or science of an earlier time is inherently inferior to that of the present, simply by virtue of its temporal priority or the belief that since civilization has advanced in certain areas, people of earlier periods were less intelligent.
The inference seems to be we know better.  I am a great believer in the results of something determining its rightness for us.  I ask myself, “are we better off as a result of what is embraced?”
Something else I heard today from someone else that I really liked was “sometimes saying no is not a mark that I do not love you, but a mark that I do love you.
Anyway the day has dawned.  Merril was going to attend the dawn service but it rained and rained.  I emptied 125 mm from the rain gauge.   I think today will be a mostly indoors day today.
