Your Turn

It seems to me love for another is something that needs to be given.  It is one thing to say “I love you,” but if there is no demonstration of that love then it’s existence is something in the realm of word only rather than deed.
This is not self-love.  To give love I need to have love to give.  To me it matters heaps that I have the proper opinion of myself.  Not something where I exalt myself above another or think that I am lower than another.  The truth is there are people that in the eyes of others and perhaps myself, I am better than, and others I am worse than.  But really to be comparing myself with another to me is a form of pride.  Even if I think I am lower than anther to me is form of inverted pride.  It is not about comparison, it is about a realistic self-assessment and being the best I can be.
To me on that basis I can give.  What I have been through is relatable.  It matters to me big time that in another’s moment of crisis I give out.  Sometimes my love is expressed in sympathy and at other times it is expressed as empathy.
Everyone is different.  Everyone goes through both good and bad.  I have no idea what I will be confronted with but in all cases I am to express love.
There are times when my experience will resound with another, and I will be just what is needed.  At no time am I to withhold.  At all times I am to give out.  I guess it is a classic case of what I hold to big time.  That is, doing to others as I would be done by.  To me there are few things sadder than having a solution and withholding it due to perhaps embarrassment or self-consciousness or a multitude of reasons.
The time to help is the time it is needed.
