Writers Block

I should not feel special as it happens to everyone apparently, but I do.  Here I am over 900 posts in and I am now having trouble finding stuff to write about.  The good thing is it will pass.  Everything does.  Time has a way of making that happen.
But before I go any further, I would like to introduce you to a new acquaintance of mine called writers block.  I know more about them now than when we first met.  I guess it has been a matter of spending time with them.  It was not like they were invited here, but they knocked on the door, and made themselves at home.  Despite not really wanting them here I have felt it was important to get to know them even if it was only to make visiting us more difficult in the future.
I thought I would look this up online.  Perhaps there would be some understanding and insight.  The first four things I read said there was no such thing as writers block (one said it is fiction).  That did not help at all.  What I found particularly rude was someone else saying “writers block is for people who have the luxury of time.”
I guess I sorta know where they were coming from though.  Someone said it was more like an ideas block.  That I can relate to.  I said to Merril the other day, what topic do you want me to write about?  She had other things going on at the time.
I did like what someone else said, and that was they have never had writers block but on occasion they have had to crawl under a blockage.  What really got my attention was something a Cynthia Kadohata said. “I hate thinking about writer's block! I don't have writer's block much, knock on wood, but if I do, I think it's usually because I haven't done enough research and am therefore unable to create a fully realized world.”
I reckon the words “created a fully realized world” are significant.  Sometimes I write down a mishmash of various ideas hoping they will make a cohesive whole when thought about and put together.  At other times I know at the start what I am trying to express.  In all cases it is creating a fully realized world.  I know I need to choose my words wisely when I have a max of 600 and a min of 400.  That is a self-imposed limit but the words ring in my ears “the head cannot receive more than the seat can endure.”
I know for some two words would be two too many, while for others 600 would look like just getting started.  I am comfortable though with the 600 max.  It does not take long, and keeps me from becoming too verbose.
I am over it now.  I have a plethora of ideas.  I tried it just before and my hand was the pen of a ready writer.  I felt I was having more trouble getting down what I was thinking about than getting ideas.
One thing that did occur to me at the time, which I think may have merit, was to ask what people wanted covered.  I may come at something completely differently than intended but hopefully it would mean something to us both.
As I say this “ideas” block is now a thing of the past.  That visitor has left the building and I intend making it as difficult as I can for them to come back.
