Worst and Best

It’s just not a good look.  When I was wondering what funny thing to put online, I saw something that said, “I long for the days when Twilight Zone was the scariest thing on tv and not the nightly news.”
I will always endevour to make things better for anyone I come into contact with. Yet I know not everyone feels the same way.  That seems especially so when drugs are involved.
I know from my own experience that inhibitions can be put to one side.  It really then becomes a case of following the heart and what is in the heart tends to come out.  Often it is the worst that is in the heart.  Others are worse off because of the actions of one.
The results of anaesthetic can be similar.  It is amazing how often doctors and nurses tell of what was said by a patient under anaesthetic.
But having said that I am not one that thinks all is lost.  I do think we have not yet seen the worst of it.  I do not feel I need to go by anything more then the trends being seen.  Folk have all sorts of different reasons as to why it is happening, but no one is questioning that it is happening.
While I do not think we have seen the worst of it I also think that we have not yet seen the best of it.  It is incredible how in times of adversity the best of human nature gets seen. 
I cannot help but think that is a result of choice.  Not a “one off” choice, but many choices.  I remember talking to someone about what is called the golden rule, that is doing to others as I would want done to me.  They rightly said that was hard.  Yet I do think the more I do it, the easier it is.
I have endeavoured to live that way for I do not know how long.  Mostly it is the simple stuff.  Ensuring others get what they need before I do.  I may know that will happen, but I do it anyway.  Others first.  Thing is, I always get what I need and am a happy camper.  My thinking is when it comes to any given task, doing the simple things consistently, makes the harder things easier.
So that is the way I think about what I see happening.  When I choose to do what is best for others and myself first, and I am more likely to make right choices down the track.
