Worry

They reckon one of the benefits of sleep is that the mind sorts through stuff and gets it in order.  I sorta like that because I do not know what is best for me.
I have had a song going through my mind that does not make any sense in the scheme of things.  It is the sorta thing where I would likely say I’m good.  Yet the song was about the pointlessness of me worrying.
I totally think that is true.  I know that the past is just a memory I cannot control.  There are no doubt things I regret, but for sure worry does not change them.  I will do what I know to when something can be done, but the majority of the past is a closed book and worrying about it changes nothing.
The same really goes for my future.  I haver plans and dreams.  There are things I want to see happen, and I I’ll do what I can to make them happen, but that is as good as I can do really.  I may imagine things happening a certain way, but the unexpected is by nature something out of the blue which I did not see coming.
While I will try to take account of possibilities, the best I can do is face each thing as it happens.  I just know that what happens is not always what I expected.  I cannot afford to worry about what might be.
Really I just need to deal with now.  That is what I have.  It does no good to live in the past and it does me no good to worry about what may or may not happen in the future.  Really what may happen in the future is a stream of seemingly endless possibilities.  Right now is not a possibility, it is a reality.
So today is today.  It is early.  Merril and I have a couple of things coming up.  I expect the best but all I can do is cross each bridge as I come to it.
