Click here tWinning.  In Table Tennis it is something I have experienced less than I would have liked, but it has not stopped me giving it my best shot, and enjoying the game.  I am good at making other people happy.  Besides there is always next time.
In some matters I have had a few wins and it sure felt good.  I don’t need to win to be happy, but it contributes positively to my happiness meter.  It sure beats the alternative.  There are those who say “oh you don’t need to be rich to be happy.”
It is learning from something that I find most beneficial.  Ok, I would rather win and learn, but it is not always like that.  I follow the Broncos, and their coach sometimes says after the Broncos have gone down, that the team learnt more from the loss, than if they had won.
Although I will always give it my best shot, sometimes it is the attitude of the other that throws me.  I think it is one way, only to find out my opponent is playing by another, more ruthless way.  Not a good look, but it happens.  This scenario leaves me open and vulnerable.  I find this particularly so when the rules for the other are win at all costs and by any means.  I always play to win, but not at any cost or by any means.  I have probably been a bit Pollyanna like in my outlook.  I have learned lessons, but sometimes it is too late to affect the current situation.
There is a guy at table tennis who, if he was to be believed, only loses because of my nets and edges (I am not good enough to mean them, but I do them, as does my opposition.)  If he does one, it is never acknowledged.  It is like it never happened.  I once won a crucial fifth set game 12/10 as the ball did something I have never seen before or since. It was going off, but hit the net upright and bounced back on the side.  It surprised us both.  I sure did not mean it, but I took it.  He was really gracious.
There was a song I used to listen to.  I listen to it less now as it is on a record and my listening is all digital these days.  There was a line in what they sang, that I never forgot.  It was “saying nothing, is saying no.”  I have always believed that, and my experience has borne it out.  To me, the failure to say or acknowledge anything is like saying no or not acknowledging the reality in front of someone..
One of my strengths though, is moving on.  I fight tooth and nail.  Sometimes though, it matters more to another than it does to me.  I tend to learn from it hopefully, and shrug my shoulders and move on.  I really have no idea if that is good or bad, but it is me.   Besides, I have other things to do.o edit.
