Who You Are

This is sort of an experiment.  I want to do something that just does not seem to be done often enough.  I want to affirm worth.
I want to build up and encourage.  I want to tell others what I am telling myself.  Too often it seems to me nice things are said about someone after they are gone.  They are not around to hear what people feel.  Things remain unsaid.  At worst nothing positive about someone is thought by others, and at best telling someone their good qualities is put off to another day.  Then that day comes and goes, and it can no longer be said.
So if we have met this includes you.
You do not need to doctor your Facebook page to impress me.  I have had something to do with you and I like what I see.  If you are like me, you have more trouble liking yourself then you do others.  But so often the way I see myself is not necessarily the way it is, or the way others see me.
You have qualities that are awesome.  What you do inspires.  From keeping house, to keeping people to creative outlets to applied knowledge.  It is good and does not crumble upon closer inspection.  You have attributes that make you stand out in a good way.  You have attributes that others aspire to have.  You simplify the profound.
You love and are loved.  You know how to bring out the best in others.  You have a role that is uniquely you.  You compliment others.  You fill a role that is greater than the sum of its parts.  You being what comes naturally has an exponential effect on others.  Thank you as I run with what you give (except scissors.  I don’t run with scissors)
Any negativity about you does not define you.  You are giving it your best shot.    You inspire when you get up again and keep going after falling flat on your face.  You cause me to realize there is hope for me.  You cause me to want to dust myself off and keep going.
What you go through and bounce back from causes me to realize afresh that the image of me may have been marred, but the image is there, and I am in at the shop being worked on.
You are so much more than what you have been told.  Your impact for good is great and it is obvious your potential is even greater.  You are not confined to a coop.  Your wings may have been clipped, but they grow back again.
When it comes to you, I know I ain’t seen nothin yet.  Who you are, and what you have, is worth dying for.
