When Silence is not Golden

I get a number of emails.  One I get once a week from James Clear.  I always read that one for the quotes from him and others.  I was amazed at the email I got this week as it contained something I am giving a lot of thought to right now.
It was a part of one of his that said, “Silence frustrates and confuses people. Better to communicate early and often.”
The reason that means something to me is having been there done that.  Silence solicits from me all sorts of imaginings.  I do not know what is right and to know what is right I need to be  told.
My response can go against something I hold to in other matters.  Never assume.  Actions born of assumptions can be completely off the mark.  I reckon it is better to know and act. 
It seems the worst thing is that someone has something against me (that is possible – not normally from an overt action but something I may be unaware of).  It is important to me to get it right.  Life is too short for negative consequences.  It can be hard, and it initially may take chipping away at, but the more I do something the easier it becomes.
Mostly I can email or text and sort something out.  There are occasions though where I need to talk with someone on the phone or face to face.
I know that can take courage but like in a number of things I “just do it.”  Often the outcome is not as bad as I imagined.  But even when it is, I find it better to resolve a matter than to have it hanging and imagining all sorts of things.  The only way I can do something is to know what to do.
So today's email was timely.  Frustration and confusion are not a good look.  I think I will do what is recommended.
