What the Day Brings

12/9/2018

This day is a bit different at the start.
I visit my bro of a morning, and we have a coffee together, and a chin wag.  I always find it interesting, and we are interested in many of the same things.
Merril and I are planning to attend the Garden Show in Melbourne next year.  To that end, I met her at the shopping centre and we went to Hello World and worked out our itinerary.  We are seeing the Great Ocean Road, the Grampians, Sovereign Hill and St Kilda while there.  Exploring Melbourne is also something we plan.  I prefer the word exploring to shopping, but that is just me.
I knew someone in Melbourne, and saw it as a good chance to get together with him.  Since leaving work I no longer had his email.  Anyway I put it out there to where I knew he worked, and lo and behold, I heard back from him, and heard that he had been chasing me up.  Turns out he is back in Brissy.  I have since spoken to him on the phone, and we hope to get together soon.
After Merril and I saw Hello World, Merril booked a massage for the next day and I had, joy of joys, a dentists appointment.  I had time to wait, and came across two people I had not seen in ages.  One just happened to be there, and the other I had been wanting to catch up with.  I introduced them to each other and the three of us had a really good talk together.  They had something in common in that they were both well travelled.  We ended up talking about Rome and Paris. The first guy I met, had been telling me about his experiences in Japan.
Anyway, seeing and talking to them, meant I was one minute late for my dentists’ appointment.  It did not matter though.  After I filled in the paperwork I was ushered in.  The Receptionist, Dentist and Dental Technician could not have been nicer, and I was only there for a clean.  I did not need to be in the chair long, to realize why I don’t like visiting the dentist. There is something about lying totally prone while others stare into, and manipulate, my mouth.  Having to turn my head sideways to prevent me drowning, while some hand held machine does the clean, is disconcerting too.  I am so glad there are those willing to do such things, as I know I need them, but I would not want to do it.  Anyway I like the end product.  I knew it was time for a clean, when my tongue discovered something and then could not stay away from it.
Someone is coming to service our stove.  That is a first, but it needs it, and we don’t want to be caught out when we cook for guests (saying “we” is a misnomer really.  Ok we plan it together, but the next time I do the cooking for guests will be the first).   We are doing all we can.  That really is the best we can do.
