What Really Happened

It is not a crime I have committed but I often think of the phrase “returning to the scene of the crime,” when I have done some things and go back and look at it.
I am probably chronic in that.  What we are working on at the moment is a biggy for us.  There is so much we are in the process of doing.  I wrote about what I am doing yesterday.  Merril comes and helps me in the yard and I help her with things she is doing.  We are a team and together we are achieving what we set out to do.
Yesterday I had in mind to work a while then come inside to escape the heat.  The day sure did not turn out that way.  It was cooler and cloudy from about 8am.  Not just cloudy but stormy.
We had something else we needed to do so we did that early, but by the time I could have worked in the yard the first rumbles of thunder were heard.  A look at the BOM showed a storm was coming.  Maybe not a supercell like last week but something nasty.  I stayed inside.
We tend to watch storms pass us, by but this one had strikes of lightning that seemed really close.  I often think about someone who told me their car was struck by lightning.  It made me think of that in relation to the highway.
I was amazed to hear the lead item in the news was two cars that were struck by lightning on the highway.  One was on the Gold Coast, and one was up this way.  A relative rang to make sure all was well here.  Thankfully it was, but not for all it seems.
I was content to stay inside while the storm raged.  We had 2 inches of rain in the gauge and were surprised by the amount.  By the time the storm went I was not into working in the yard at all.  Merril and I went to Chinese restaurant.  When we came home it was still light and I sat outside looking at my tools I had left out.  The on thing they had gotten was wet.
It was a nice sunset which I captured on film.  By this time, I was really only good for telly and bed.  Maybe the day ended with a whimper, but I was ok with that.
