What a Week!

Coffee, picking up decking material and screws, coffee, commonwealth games, coffee, working on stuff at one of our rental properties, coffee, shopping, doctors appointments, coffee, gardening, stamps, coffee,  church, meals out, coffee.
Actually we now have a fake or pretend coffee so that on occasions we have something that, while still not necessarily good for us, is not as addictive and does not cause our heart rate to sky rocket like we have been exercising.  It really does taste like coffee though.
It seems we have finally dealt with the rats…errr….hamsters.  One hamster had become four.  We had stopped feeding the birds in two of our three feeders as the rodents scared the birds away and ate everything.  One hamster had even learned to jump from the tree trunk to our hanging feeder.  We had tried baits and boxes and traps with limited success.  We did not want to change things to accommodate them, but we wanted to deal with them.
We now use an electronic thing from Bunnings. It seems amazing to look in the yard and not see rodents frolicking.   There is one young one that does not seem to have got the message, though I am confident he (he, her, it – I really have no idea) will disappear as we have been using this device less than 24 hours.
I actually think if one did not care, and just wanted to make a quick buck, this device would be perfect.  When we buy it we are told it emits a high sound that humans cannot hear, but is undesirable to rodents and does not affect anything else.  Fair dinkum, how would we know it even works? It is only on taking it home and turning it on, that we see it really does work.
We have a trip into Brisbane today to see someone.  We really need to be prepared for that trip.
Anyway life at our residence seems to be returning to what we know.  We sure are please about that.
