Wet and Cold

I thought it was cold anyway.  When I arrived from Townsville, I thought Brisbane was really cold.  Maybe it is all relative.  Well not maybe - I guess as it is.
We have a friend from overseas and a much cooler climate than ours.  When they first arrived, they dressed in winter like it was summer.  But things have changed.  After a few years here the dressing is now more like what we would expect.
All this started because I was talking on the phone to a company representative.  They had asked me how my day was, and I told them cold but good.  I did find the day cool.  It was cool and wet.
Anway they asked where I was and I said Brisbane.  Their response “oh Peter Brisbane is not cold.”  They were from Melbourne.  I found about 15 degrees at the time cold.  They told me they thought the temperature was about 5 degrees at the time.
Ok I must concede that is cool.  Definitely cooler.  Didn’t stop me being cool though.  And it was raining.  The weather was preventing me from sitting in my favourite seat in the yard and staring meaningfully off into the middle distance.
I did have plans for the day.  Outside plans.  Garden changing plans.  Well they went by the board.  The weather was just the excuse I needed to keep me from heavy yard work.  It was definitely an indoors type of day.
I did things on my computer including some things I had not planned like summarize a chapter of a book I was reading.  I was finding it fairly hard to put down.  Ok it was not fiction, but it was something I was really interested in.
So I spent a good bit of the day reading and doing stuff on the computer.  Oh and looking outside and deciding it was too wet and cold to work outside.  I know I kept myself interested for the day.
