Weird Day

Totally weird day today.  It is the day I have designated as my day off.  I am continually amazed at how I look forward to it.  Up until that day I have commitments which I am happy to have, but on my day off I have zero commitments.
Early I had things I do and after that I did a few other things.  Today it was raining on and off, so it was not a day for outdoor activities.  Turned out I spent most of the day listening to music.
When I am listening to new stuff, I check out the words at the same time.  Today it started because I had bought a number of albums on special.  I thought I had better check out what I had bought.  I admit I like to purchase obscure artists.  Often just because they are not famous does not mean they are not any good.  A number of times I have made discoveries.  When I get albums on special, I often find that one or two really good songs makes the purchase worthwhile.
I put the music on Spotify and find out what the reviewing site I go to thinks of them.  I do not always agree with their assessment, but it gives me a good starting point.  The two albums I investigated today had both been given four stars out of five.  I thought that was a real bonus.
I must admit I did not necessarily agree with them, but one group piqued my interest and I listened to another album of theirs I really liked.  I now have three of their songs on my play list.
But today really showed me something.  I really did wonder what I was going to do with it.  There were a number of destructive things I had in mind to do but as been happening heaps lately I did not go there.  I took what some would consider the more boring road, but I am so glad I did.
I made discoveries and went places I did not know I would go today.  And I enjoyed it big time.  That for me has not always been the case.  In the past I have gone down familiar roads that partially satisfy.  But always there is a sense of inadequacy.
Ok I will be lucky if I remember this time in a week, but I feel like my feet were on solid ground.  That in itself I put down as a win, and the discoveries I made were a bonus.
