Weeds

Here we are at post 1,600.  I am probably the least excited I have been to reach this sort of milestone.  For sure I have been watching the numbers go up. (Thankfully they always go in an upward direction when I post) and I have been looking at when a milestone would be reached.
But here I am, and the world don’t look no different to yesterday.
One thing for sure though the world looks different now then when I started posting.  For one thing pandemics were studied in books but not experienced.  One thing never changes though.  Weeds.  Clearing a plot of ground looks great.  I luxuriate in the cleanness of it all.  But they come back.  They do not even care they are not welcome.  Each day a new bit of green appears. 
At first it looks fine.  Green looks good in that something is growing.  But then what they are reveals themselves.  Joy becomes dismay.  There will be work to be done.  But another day.  Then days turn into weeks and Houston we have a problem.
Our solution these days is to have someone else deal with them.  But last time we did not activate the solution immediately.  The weeds had become such that large animals could be hidden in there and we not know.
But right now it looks good.  Green is emerging.  It is a joy to look out the window into the garden.  One thing that does not seem to change is the presence of the Little Wattle bird.  Weeds or no weeds that bird is there.  Looking for food in the trees.  I doubt it even knows there are weeds.  For birds it seems to be food or no food.
I reckon I should have the place looking reasonable.  I do not see many “bush gardens” in a front yard.  This just happens to be a bush garden complete with exotic and not so exotic weeds.
We have decided we want our bush garden to look more like a forest than a jungle.  I made the novices mistake early by planting heaps and close together.  They came up alright and then there was a scramble for the light.  I have thinned it all out.
Trouble is more dirt, more weeds.  So we have got some ground cover and we did a propagation course.  We will beat these things for sure.  Trouble is right now it is weeds 471 and Kuskie’s 0.  But we live in hope.
So when I started writing weeds grew.  At post 1600 weeds grow.
