Warwick

There is no doubt about it, I was cactus last night. I would like to say it was all Merril's fault, but it was only partly Merril’s fault.

We went to Warwick yesterday. For some reason Merril thought it was 5 hours travel each way. There were a group of us going and because Merril thought there was so much travel we arranged to meet somewhere and leave at 6am. Which meant leaving here about 5.30 am which meant being up and getting ready around 5am.

We did not get back home until after 8pm. Big day. Merril drove back a Pajero to be left somewhere for cleanup and sale. It did not help that when we first hopped into the car the speedo was really faint. We told someone in another car travelling to Brisbane our problem and they found something on google. We tried it and I just about needed sunglasses after that the speedo was so bright. It did make us wonder how long the speedo had been almost unreadable.

Anyway, because the car was being sold we determined that was a really good feature we could highlight. “Readable speedo.” Got to be a selling point. We also decided “wipers that work” was a really desirable plus too. We found that out when the wipers came on on their own when we went through a bit of rain. They wiped even faster when the rain got heavier.

We did not highlight it but the light coming on was a definite plus too. When the car determined it was a little dark the lights came on and the dashboard lit up. We did think it could have been a little brighter to start with.

But that was just our travelling home. Two of us had never been where we were going. It was to visit Merril’s mum. Like all of us she is getting long in the tooth, and we wanted to see how we could help.

We decided we could and thought it was just a pity it was so far away.

We visited a caravan place to see if they, or who, could fix something, and at what cost. We found out they could do it along with hearing what seemed to be the owner's life story. We were flabbergasted to be told of the person servings battle with sepsis and how there are signs at the hospital because of her. And hearing of her three kids and how one is autistic. We did wonder how the jet ski got into the conversation. But the person had to go wake her husband who was doing a delivery to (or from – I have forgotten) Woolworths at 4pm.

Still, they were helpful, and we were grateful.

It was a good trip. I was glad we went. I was also glad to be home.
