Wall-E

I love some of the Pixar movies.  I was thinking about Wall-E.  I loved the thought of a ship in space, and it was a spaceship.  I also loved that the ship was owned by a company called Buy N Large and was inhabited by large people that got all they wanted when they wanted it. They had consequently all but lost the use of their legs and were transported everywhere.
That came to mind as I was considering how much of what is said is regarded as true, yet questionable.  That arose from thinking about the saying “I won’t believe it unless I see it.”  The foundation of that seems to be that, what is before my eyes is the ultimate reality.
The fate of the earth alone causes me to question that.  Science suggests even our sun has a limited life span.  It may be measured in billions of years, but the consensus is it will burn out and go cold.  As a result, mankind will not be able to live on this planet.
I guess that is what lead to me thinking about Wall-E.  The thought was mankind would abandon this planet and start again on another.   First steps in that scenario seem to be being planned now with Mars as the current object.
I must confess that based on human history, I am not confident.  We seem to invent new ways of killing each other.  Mistakes are generally acknowledged but we keep on making them.  It may be ok for those not impacted, but it is the end of the current story for those who are.
Merril says heaps of stuff I love.  Recently she has said several times “we are not humans having a spirit experience, but a spirit having a human experience.”  That is the way I see the world.
I seek answers beyond what I see.  Maybe it takes me a step of reasonable faith, but so much of what I see leads to a dead end.
