Walk the Walk

I am sorry that you are my guinea pigs but in a word you are.  Well in two words.  I am studying a book, and my intention was to highlight things I thought were important (doing), make computer notes of what I highlight (doing), and put each chapter into my own words and dish it up to you (intended to do, but I have been side-tracked).
The reason I have been side-tracked is I read something the other day that totally blew me away.  It said 81% of our communication is non-verbal.  To me, the implications of that statement are huge.  Its most profound affect seems to be on walking the walk and talking the talk.
Hopefully it never will come to it, but if I had a choice, and based on those statistics, I would rather walk the walk.  At least then I would retain over 4/5 of my ability to communicate.  Besides, it would seem unfair if a person was mute and talking the talk was like 70%.
It seems to me the implications of that statement are far reaching.  I have seen it at work.  Someone who could say all the right things and someone who could do all the right things.  I know which one I preferred by my side.  Doing beats talking to me.
In family life I am sometimes told “don’t listen to a word they say.”  That is said because their reputation is for talking a good game, but walking a good game is a different matter.
I find it way more profitable to observe.  That seems to tell me more than what may be said.  Talk is important.  If I want to score 99/100 then a percentage of that is talk, but it sure is not the most important thing.
I could say,’ “I can clean and jerk 5,000 kgs” (you probably thought that anyway).  All the evidence may be to the contrary.  Research may show that that is not possible.  Yet the fact I cannot has to be based on my walk.  A person would need to see that I cannot before they could univocally say I cannot, and that I am telling porkies.
This matters to me as research has shown that mankind has a natural inclination to negativity.  I may want something to be different but my wanting it does not make it different.  I sometimes feel overwhelmingly one way and slightly another but sure as eggs when I say something it comes out all wrong and does not reflect the majority of what I feel.  Usually I have poured petrol on the flames rather than soothed troubled waters.
I am not one that calls upon will power to be different.  Some do, but it does not work for me.  To deal with negativity I need help.  There is no doubt I prefer to do good but so often the good that I would do is absent.
The ideal to me is to walk the walk and talk the talk.  A disconnect between them is schizophrenic to me.  The 19% talk is important, but I need to combine it with the 81% walk.
