Vulgate

I thought I would do something different this time.  It is dictionary day again.  But this time instead of looking up the meaning of the word I would write what I think and see how close I am.
The word my finger fell on was Vulgate.  Now Vulgate is very close to Vulgar.  Because it starts with a capital it is probably saying this is serious.  I reckon it is the gate used to get into like the Vulgar paddock if someone is wanting to find it.
Gate implies access.  T is not far beyond R in the alphabet, so obviously the words are closely related.  A person would have not long ago done the r’s and come across vulgar and then after having seen Vulgas (which I believe is a river in Russia) come to Vulgate.
The fact there is an additional e I can see right through.  The e is designed to throw me off the track.   As though the words are not related at all.  But I know it is really saying to be vulgar I need to access it through the vulgate.
Not that I really want to go there.  This is like an “if” scenario.  Like should I want to be patient I need to access it through the patgate.
I reckon the gate is the key.  I access kindness through the kingate or if I seek gentleness it is like through the gentlgate.
This is easy.  I reckon I have got this.
But the moment of truth has arrived.  Am I right?  I say the word Vulgate means to get into the Vulgar paddock.
Hmmm close – maybe in some parallel universe. “Latin version of the Bible prepared mainly by St Jerome in the 4th century.”
But the explanation was made up of letters and mine was too, so I got that right.  It was also in English, as was my explanation. (I am trying to stay positive here).  I got to be honest here and say that more and more it is like Maxwell Smart says, “missed it by THAT much.”
Oh well.  I tried.
