To me, enjoy it while you can.  It does not mean that tasks that are done at home are not done, but a different take can be taken.
Washing up for example.  It needs to happen.  Merril prepares a sumptuous feast and I wash up.  I always let it mature and do it the next morning.  This morning was no exception.  Except this time, I had the earphones on and listened to music.
I am biased I know but I loved everything I heard.  Fair dinkum, I reckon I am a closet head banger.  If I had not been washing up, finding a wall and banging my head against it would have seemed totally appropriate.  One of the first songs was by Lacy Sturm on the Album “Life Screams.”  I need to like the music but it is the words that get me.  She sang “I can’t believe I’m living the impossible.”  I like that.
The next song was by The Afters from their Life is Beautiful album.  The song I heard was the title song.  It goes through heaps of things we should be thankful for.  The next song was from a guy called Bob Bennett simply titled “Song about Baseball.”  It presented a kid’s perspective on “the big game” he was involved in.  “Swinging with eyes closed, holding my breath, I was dying on my way to the bench.”  Then he gives a really great perspective. “But none of it mattered after the game, when my father would find me and call out my name.  A soft drink a snow cone, a candy bar, a limousine ride in the family car.  He loved me no matter how I played…my father showed me what love is about.”
After that was a song by Mylon & Broken Heart.  He is one of my favourite artists.  I have heaps of his albums.  The first album I bought of his was called “More.”  I had it on continual rotation more than any other album I have ever had.  The song I listened to was called “Dancing in the Light.”  Ok I was just washing up but they were not washing up moves I was doing.  I love it when he sings “All my fear just fade away, when I’m dancing in the light.  I feel like a child today cause I’m dancing in the light.”
The next song was by Russ Taff called “Medals” from his Medals album.  I reckon this was just about the perfect album.  It was not that I liked every song, but I was left wanting more.  Someone said “I am satisfied with an unsatisfied satisfaction.  This album satisfied me.  It was a great album.  But I was unsatisfied.  I wanted more.  So many other songs have a good hook and they exploit it ad nauseum.  Not this guy.  He had good hooks without the exploitation.  The songs I really liked I was thinking, “it’s ended, noooo.”  Good thing I reckon.  If I wanted more, I had to come back for more.
The last song was by a group called “Future of Forestry.”  The complete travellers series.  It has a song I really love called “close your eyes.”  It said “close your eyes this time, cause trust is all we have tonight, but trust will be forever.”
Admittedly not many people get off doing the washing up (that I know of anyway).  I don’t normally, but today I did.  I really liked what I heard.  It made washing up good.  Different.
