Very Little Happened

We have probably all seen the inscription that says “On this spot, such and such happened.”  It normally denotes some famous event.  Then there is there is the send up of that, that says “On this spot, nothing happened.”  My day was probably somewhere in between.  I reckon it would probably be true to say “On this spot, not much happened.”
Certainly it was important to me, but I cannot imagine looking back on that date and remembering it, and what I was doing.  It was for me a very normal day, with very normal activities.
As per usual it started very early, like four am early.  I have worked out that the sleep I have in the afternoon, makes the number of hours I sleep very normal in that it is about 7 hours.  It makes me feel better about it anyway.
Fridays, I like to go shopping, though I prefer the word exploring.  I don’t get the bulk of our stuff, just things we want, and have run out of.  There were two items for me to get, but for the life of me, I could not remember one of them.  It turned out it was nuts, but I was reminded of that when I was home.
We tend to use the local Woollies. I knew we wanted coffee.  The strategy was, if it was on special, get a couple, and if it was not, then just get one.  We get the 400g Moccona.   When it is on special it is $16 and when it is not it is $24. There were special signs everywhere.   Everywhere that is, except on the 400g Moccona.  However the 200g was on special for $9 each.  I set about doing some maths in my head, and realized I could get 2 x 200g bottles for $18 or one 400g bottle for $24.  I ended up getting four 200g bottles.
I also like to look around the shopping centre.  We feel like we are really on the map now in Burpengary, as we have our own Kmart.  Oh, and we seem to now have a lot of traffic lights.  I have a mate that was going to leave Burpengary because it had one traffic light.  Now there are a great many, and he is still here.
Anyway, our Woollies shopping centre has recently expanded.  It did mean however, there were many places that said for lease.  Slowly some of those places have been inhabited.
I noticed Kmart now has a new neighbour.  It is a big craft store.  It is the sort of place I would go to have a look, but cannot imagine buying anything from.  I mean, not 20 meters away is a Discount store that sells the same thing.  It sort of reminds me of on the block when someone went to a swish store, and commented how when they were back in Kmart, all was right with the world.  Ok Kmart and Lowes and the Reject Shop, are my sort of stores.  It seems there is a place for all of them, and a market for them all.  I think I am the Kmart target.
Well, that is only till about 8am.  There was more, but it is probably best I do not go into it, as I prefer to go forward, rather than relive my triumphs.
