Vegging

Thursday is my day off.  Not everyone understands that but I need to do it for my own sanity.  Naturally it does not mean that I do nothing.  It just means I make no appointments.
At the time of writing I have an appointment every day except Monday and Thursday.  I try to put unexpected appointments in on Monday.  It does not always work but I try.  The one day I avoid putting anything on is Thursday.
I have to this point made an exception once but at that time I could make the day off another day.  The reason I made the exception was that I really felt doing the task would be good for me, and it was doing something in the direction in which I wanted to head.  I had no regrets.
I used to be in charge of a choir, and I was encouraging someone to join.  They said people ring at that time.  I said join and they will stop ringing then.  That was what they did.  They knew not to contact at that time as the person was busy.
Besides, on our phones is a mute button.  I use it when I am somewhere or doing something where I do not want to be disturbed.  I may miss something earthshattering but chasing it up two hours later is a price I will pay.  Everyone may not be the same.  That was my decision.  The decision of others may be different.
Still, instant knowledge is a relatively new phenomenon.  Once news was delivered by a runner or by ship several months later.  It is different now though.
As I say I may do heaps.  Then again, I may do nothing.  So far it is a combination.  It is Boxing day and I have been working on two things.  I think I have this sleep thing worked out.  I have practiced it in the morning and this afternoon.
I am also working on a lending library.  This morning I was checking cd cases.  Those that were broken I put in another case.  I also added ISBN’s and other data to the data base.  I am so not into that, but it had to be done and it was.
It is ready to use really.  My bro has borrowed a couple of items and it has given us a chance to check the procedure.  I guess it will be used more in the new year.  There are some great titles in my opinion.
That leaves tonight really.  I have checked cricket scores during the day. It has been a slow day.  Australia is 4/240 odd.  I don’t watch at the moment.  It is a bit nerve wracking for me.  I am though impressed the English can invent a game that lasts five days.  I am glad I can do what I do during the day and they are still going.  I am a tests man.  50 over and 20 overs is ok, but I regard tests as the real thing.
So today is mostly a veg day.  We have organized a quote for the new year and we have stuffed planned for down the track, but that is not for now.  Now is for vegging.
