I guess a bit of a theme is emerging here.
It is probably wishful thinking, but I like a tv in the bedroom to lie down and watch programs I want to see (I am normally asleep in about 10 minutes though). It rarely happens, but sometimes Merril wants to see a different program on at the same time, and as we have a couple of tv’s, each can watch what they are into.
A tv in the bedroom may not be recommended (especially the leaving of it on while sleeping).  I ensure the tv is on a station that will not advertise or show something I would not want to watch if I were awake.  It is amazing how some channels that do not have really dark stuff advertise programs of a really dark channel.  At least once I have awoken and turned off the tv.
Last night I went to bed really early and awoke during a movie.  I did like what I was seeing.  It was about three generations of a family.  A fit granddad of about 60.  His son who was about 40 and into city life, and his son of about 20 who was a musician and into music.
What was not stated but obvious, was that each generation while not saying it outright despised the others and considered their own lifestyle as the right one to live.  I did like though that each person was open to change if convinced.
It turned out though a series of circumstances while they were camping that the skills particular to each came to light.  It was clear to see that each brough something unique to the table.  Something that the skill sets of the others required to get them out of a particular situation.
Why I like that, is that each of us has something to bring to the table.  Maybe I do not adhere to a certain lifestyle.  To me that is perfectly ok.  What is not perfectly ok to me though is being closed to another in the mistaken belief that my lifestyle is the only way to live.
My lifestyle has strengths and weaknesses.  I need others and others need me.  In the words of a song I have not forgotten “no one of us has got it all together, but all of us together got it all.”
