Typical Day

2/3/2024

Saturday proved to be a normal Saturday with the Market.
Merril and I had stuff to sell that had been donated.  We knew there was desirable stuff that can cost heaps but we sell for $2.  All proceeds go to our food pantry.  It has great prices for food and all fruit and vege is free as is bread.  Other places donate it to the pantry.
So we had three tables at the ready with stuff on them.  Our goal is $30 a time and we did that.
It was not like the last time when I forgot we were having it and we arrived late.  Merril wondered why I was so laid back about a time to get there.  I sure would have recommended we get there earlier if I had remembered.  Still we were there and clients were grateful things were available.
I had a few other things I wanted to do.  I set up the kids room where I was there.  We see it as our multi-purpose room as it is downstairs and available for all sorts of activities.  Sunday morning though it is a kids room.  I generally make sure all is in readiness.  The air conditioning there is great and it has been a real relief during hot weather.
So I did that and tidied up a small play area we have.  Merril got the music going (we have a video going with nice instrumental music playing.  It is for clients that are waiting to go into the pantry and avail themselves if coffee or tea while they wait.
There was also cake available and I did a community service I know by having some.  And then some.
We sold some stuff and it was great to talk to people while they browsed and waiting for the pantry (we have a limit of 10 in there at a time).  Someone brought in a donation of a kids toy and then another part to it.  Fair-dinkum I had no idea how it went but one of the people waiting informed me about it going together.
The afternoon was fairy typical and I did some work in the yard when it cooled down.
All in all a good day.  Nothing outstanding, but sometimes that makes for an outstanding day.
