Travel

Merril and I have been crazy busy the last few weeks but ahead we knew a holiday was coming.  Tomorrow that day arrives.  We catch a boat and head to south Stradbroke of 11 days.  Veging, fishing eating, reading, photographing, sleeping.  What’s not to look forward to?
I had thought another day at home before we head off might be a good idea but we were able to pack today and still get the rest we needed.  I still need to ask a neighbour to feed the worms and keep an eye on the place but another neighbour will get the mail and put out the bins.  Now it is just finalizing a few things.
Ok, all good, neighbour feeding worms and keeping an eye on the joint.  Friends use the back shed while we are away.  Hopefully all is in readiness.
Although I am retired I had a feeling recently that the put the feet up thing was not for me.  I will always try to ensure I get  holiday (4 weeks a year) and take a day off a week to ensure I stay sane (I can only try).  But I think I am a bit like a boss I had one time who said he works hard and plays hard.
I feel when it is time to work work and when it is time to play play.  Thankfully I am not one to wish things were different.  They are what they are and they are the way I want them to be.  When it is time for a change I will know.  I will feel a stirring and dis-satisfaction.
I knew someone in Townsville that had been there many years and they said one time when they flew it for the first time they felt like it was not home.  Not long after they were elsewhere.
After this time we have booked a trip to Townsville in May.  It was on the bucket list to see a Cowboys game.  Jetstar was offering a special flight and accommodation deal to get people traveling again.  It worked.  We have tickets to a Cowboys/Newcastle game.  Being from Townsville originally I am hoping the Cowboys have a win.
We have arranged also to see a mate of both of us in Townsville.  He had mobility issues so we are meeting on the Strand which is a really nice place.
It is pretty obvious my mind is elsewhere already.  But as I said a person said to me “whenever my daughter goes anywhere a part of my heart goes with her.”  Although we will be far away a part of my heart remains here.
