Tooth Ache

I have a bit of a tooth ache at the moment. It is actually a lot of a tooth ache. I have an appointment with the dentist set down for the 16th but I don’t know I can last that long. Right now it is fairly settled. Yesterday it was painful all day and effected the way I ate. I favoured eating on the side of my mouth opposite to the ache.
What I am seeing as clear as a bell is that although the rest of me is fine (or as fine as it could be – and that’s boy fine not girl fine) I am giving no thought really to the part of me that is ok. It is the tooth that demands my attention.
I guess it is like in everything. I give no thought to the areas going well. It is the areas that cause disruption or the ones I am having a problem with that cause me angst. There is no doubt about it I am grateful for what goes well but for me it is easy to take them for granted.
I guess it is like building a house or something or in our case maintaining the place. I really like what I see but the truth is it is the areas that cause me trouble or were the hardest to deal with that I remember clearest and from which I derive the most pleasure.
The memory may be good even if it meant work, but it is the areas that were hardest and I had a win, I tend to look back most fondly at. At the time for sure I wish it were easier. It is not something I say “you beaudy, trouble.” But I cannot deny a hard win means more than an easy win.
I am thinking the same with my tooth. I am sorry I sort of took it for granted. It was doing what it was supposed to do no problem. But now it is telling me something. Maybe Helen Ready sang “I am women hear me roar” well my tooth is singing “I am tooth, hear me roar.” In this case it is not in numbers too big to ignore, it is in ones too big to ignore. It is saying I need help and I need it now.
Well I hear ya tooth. Something will be done sooner rather than later. Oh and all you other teeth, I really appreciate you.
