Too Much Weight

I am quite proud of myself.  I needed to stay strong and I did.  Merril was out wipper-snipering and mowing the lawn and I stayed strong by remaining seated.  I could have given in and gone out and helped her but nope.  I didn’t yield.  She may have been experiencing  perspiration, but I wasn’t going to cave in.
I was awaiting a guest.  Merril and I had agreed before hand that she would mow.  After the guest had gone, I did what I could.  I couldn’t wipper-snip as that had already been done.  Nor could I mow for the same reason.  Rats!!  I could say there is always next time, but let’s not be hasty.  We will cross that bridge when the chickens hatch.
So often things vie for my attention.  Things I could do.  Things that need to be done.  I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I never repeat myself.  No that isn’t what I was going to say.  But it wasn’t my fault.  My fingers just typed.  How was I to know what they said until I read it?
What I was going to say before I was so rudely interrupted was that there are heaps of things I could do but that does not mean I am the one to do it.  I so admire Merril.  She is being asked to do a heap of things but her response is, “I’m going to have a break first, and then decide.”
I like that because I have seen people say yes to everything and then ask why did I say yes to that?  A presented case can be fairly compelling.  The inclination can be to jump straight in and say yes.  After all there is a need and I can fill it.  The trouble is, what is really right for me can come up, but I cannot do it because I am too busy doing other things.
I did one of these personality tests. I am thankful to say they found a personality.  The conclusion reached felt right.  It said my nature was sanguine.  Emotional and people oriented.  Though I am fairly laid back, sanguine is not code for slack.  I plan things and do things but if they don’t work out, I don’t lose any sleep over it.  I guess I exhibit a bit of Choleric also in that I am task-oriented.  Just like there are many stories in the yellow pages and this has been one of them, there are many personality type systems, and this is one of them.
I cannot pretend though that my type is the only one that is valid.  There are also Choleric, Melencholic and Phlegmatic.    As they say it takes all sorts.  There is enough to go around.  Enough needs that is.  Enough tasks.  Enough things to do.  I need to be careful that I take on only what is right for me.  Enough weight on anything will break it.  I may want to play a part in solving heaps, but to take on everything would be too much weight.
I would much prefer to feel liberated by what I do then bound.  It is weird though because it seems the more I know, the more I discover that the less I know. Whatever I find to do, I want to do it with everything I have.  That should be enough to keep me busy.
