Well I think we are on the home straight.
This has been a busy week by choice.  We are preparing for an event.  As a mate would say, “it is good to have people around as the chance is always taken to do up the place.”
What has been a bit different for me is I am transferring the meal cooked to another place.  It has meant taking heaps of stuff to another place with the thought of bringing it home again when done.  This has involved making sure I have not forgotten anything.  I have also been watching the weather closely.  It is a case of wanting rain but not right now thank you.
Merril and I have also been in the process of doing up chairs.  Some were coming apart, so I did something I am not used to doing.  Visited a material shop.  We got the closest material we could find and I removed the covers and Merril applied the new material and I screwed the covers back in.  Merril also varnished the arm rests and painted.  I put the stuff in the car and unloaded it.
We also help with the cleaning of the joint where the event is being held.  We have that to look forward to today.
There are a number of activities planned and I am tasked with the smooth operation of activities.  It will happen but I confess I will be glad when it has.  Cause until it has past all remains an unknown.
It is funny how it is a means to an end.  As I am fond of thinking, so often people see events run smoothly without an appreciation of all that goes into it.  I am intimately acquainted with that.  It is a means to an end but not the end in itself.  I am looking forward to what it is all about too.
I just finished a book and one of the last sentences was “too often we immerse ourselves in the task but lose sight of its ultimate purpose.”   Ok so I am facilitating a lot, but I am a part of a lot.
