To Do

Today has turned out to be different.  Merril informed me it was a public holiday and so Main Roads would not be open.  That changed my mindset.  Here I was sprucing myself up and we were not going out.
I needed to decide what I was going to do.  Having a sleep at some stage was a given.  I mostly do that.  It was what I was going to do with the rest of the time.  The garden was calling but I resisted.
I did have a heap of other things I could do.  Like filing or cataloguing items or putting up a wall mounted ironing board.  I spent most of the day doing none of them.
I decided I heeded to do some things that were more public facing.  Besides Merril is doing her nursing rego. Again.  She has to do 60 hours of study.  I have decided while she studies I will do the book cataloguing.  It takes ages.  My bro. did most of what is there.  I never cease to be amazed.
But what I did today was public facing.  Filing is hardly that.  I have a bit to do but putting many piles into one or two makes it look less somehow.  Trouble is, no matter how much I ignore it, it does not go away.  It is like a faithful friend.  Always there.  I would not be hurt if it was not though.
So I spent a good bit of the day looking at my files and files in Dropbox.  The church I go to is big on drobox, so I decided what is on my files that is relevant there, I needed to get into Dropbox.  It gave me a good chance to examine and clean out.  I could not believe some of the files misfiled.  Files seem to almost multiply on their own.
Anyway I seemed to end up on a roll.  I reckon I almost spent too long thinking about it.  I went and had a rest and when I came back what to do seemed so much clearer.  I did what I had to do and I am a happy camper.  Well, like most things the more I looked the more I found to do.  But I think I have a system now.
Like everything it seems the hardest part is getting started.  It is only after looking and considering something sensible for me to do emerges.  I have a couple more things to do but it seems easier now somehow.
But my wife is working in the yard.  I get guilty when I see that.  I think I should be doing something there too.  I think I will.  I have something in mind that will make a difference.  But I cannot do that until Merril finishes what she is doing.  Oh well.  I can watch.
Back.  Done my bit.  But I told her what she did looks better than when I do it, and she should do it all the time.  She did not take me seriously.
