Well they came, they saw, they removed the tree.  We are amazed at how much space it took up.
It was sad to see it go but it is a relief not to be concerned about a tree falling every time the wind blows.
All that remains is a pile of mulch from the tree stumping.  We have places for the mulch and the task of making where it was, a pleasant place to be.  As we are fond of saying given time we will not even give thought to there once being a tree there.  We enjoyed it but are moving on.
We have ordered a large umbrella to go up in the place where we once had the shade of a tree - its only crime was to grow too big.
We are giving thought to what we are going to do with the area but that is an ongoing issue for us.  We have much to do anyway.  We need to fix some chairs that are seeing the cloth on the seat rip.  We have what is needed for the repairs and have decided now is the time to do it,
Also yesterday we received a pile of donations for the market we run.  We have been through them and determined what can be sold.  We also have been given clothes to give away.  We intend putting things in crates which are easy to store and stack.
Merril is doing study and is glad for a day or two away from that.  She finished an assignment early.  She has though been asked to present in the coming week and intends working on that also in the next day or two.
I have things to do.  I get the brief on the Sunday for the major a activity I cover on Tuesday.  Before that there are activities to engage in which if not done cause disruption to others.
But today is free apart from taking cans and bottles to Containers for Cash.  That occurs monthly.  It will not be long until we know how we have gone for the last financial year.  I am a bit of a numbers man too and I am interested to see how we are doing.
I used to leave a small bin on the edge of our property for people to put empties in.  I wondered why it was never used.  Since then, I have seen a guy that goes from house to house each week collecting empty containers.  No wonder the bin was always empty.
With yard work to do and also a shed to tidy I have heaps to keep me going.  I must admit I am glad for it.  Much of my activity may be on repeat, but I believe it is worthwhile.  Sort of reminds me of what G.K.Chesterton said, “the repetition in nature may not be a mere recurrence.  It may be a theatrical encore.”
