Tired

Sometimes life is just harder than at other times.  Today after lunch I was tireder than I ever remember being.  We had lunch and then a sleep.  I had an appointment at 4pm and before I knew it, it was 3.30.
When I say before I knew it, that was so true.  I did not wake up until then.  Merril’s comment was, “where did that time go?”  Even after the appointment I was cactus, but I felt it was important to stay awake as Merril was packing for a cruise she is going on with her sisters.  It will be good time off for her.  We have time off together in October for about two weeks.
I guess the tiredness had to do with both of us needing to do something we did not know we would be doing until this week.  For me it involved doing new things while for Merril it involved doing things she had done but was only doing as a favour.
Another mate graciously stepped in to help but he retired this week, and I would love to see him have a break after working for 40 years.  But alas it was not to be.
Anyway, that week is over and a cruise is the best thing for Merril.  I will be engaged in my usual activities. But at the end of the week I have a get together organized where people get a free feed.  Merril normally does the cooking but will not be available.  Someone else has agreed to help.  I was hoping they would say they would do it.
Cooking for others is definitely not my strong point.  In fact, I get more stressed about the cooking than any other thing organised.  I can happily prepare the place and speak, but ask me to cook and I go to pieces.  It is definitely something I do not get excited about.  Others I know are different but that is no help to me really.  Except when they say they will do it.  I am very thankful someone has indicated they will assist.
This week has been an aberration.  It is considered that I am busy, and I guess I am.  But the truth is I love what I normally do and do not consider it work.  I do what many it seems do not like to do and that is organize rosters.  But the fact of the matter is I love people and get  great pleasure in seeing others thrive.  So I reckon I have accumulated some people and organizational skills.
I am looking forward to another good sleep.  I don’t think it will be a “good Lord morning” day, but a “good morning Lord!” day.
