Timing

I do not remember if I wrote about this but I do know I was thinking about it.
So often denial is seen to be not a loving act.  I am all to ready to lay the blame in a buckshot manner.  I fail to appreciate that while delay is never seen as good it can be worked for good.
I was considering a child asking for ice cream.  I would not be acting in love if I gave the child all that they want when they want it.  Instant gratification can do me harm.  The child like me, may think they know best, but what do they or I know really?  There are times when getting what I want when I want it, does me more harm than good.  So often it can lead e on a path that is contrary to what is really best for me.
That is not to say that what I want is never good (though there are some things that are never good for me, and I will take no for an answer always, if I know what is good for me).
But there are times where what seems to be a “no,” is really a “not yet.”  I have found that.  Sometimes there is a liberty in doing something and sometimes there is not.
The bottom line for me is timing (I know at work I had a reputation for being a bottom line man).  There is a time where eating ice-cream is good and right and a delight.  But not always.  Some chocolate factories apparently allow employees to eat as much as they like as they know chocolate is not right all the time.  The employees come around to moderation.
The last thing I want is to get what I want prematurely.  As the song says, there is a time for everything.  When I get what I want prematurely I am likely to squander stuff and limit my potential.
Like if I was given a plane.  I am likely to crash it.  The right time to fly it would be after I had learned what I needed to know.  After that the sky would literally be the limit, and I would be more likely to have the ability and confidence to take it further.
So for me I want stuff that is right for me.  But if I need to wait to get what I am entitled to then so be it, as I want whatever I have to be maximized.
