Time will Tell

I never know what is going to stand out to me.  For example, the other day someone said something that could so easily have been glossed over. Yet it had me thinking about it a lot.  The phrase was “It’s just a matter of time.”
What that means can be seen as obvious, yet for me it was also so profound.  I could see that so many practices lend themselves to development over the course of time.  Merril and I are currently looking at a book we are going to continue to study.  We had decided one week per topic does not suffice and made it two weeks.  It is just a matter of time that as we study and do what is recommended, we will become more like the way promoted.
This highlights to me the impact of a matter of time.  To me few words are good or bad in themselves.  For example, music, writing, film, computer games.  The whole point for me is that it is “just a matter of time” before its impact is known. Writing is neither good or bad.  What I write is.  Film can scare, promote hatred, promote suspect lifestyles and it can inspire valiantry, honour, love and compassion.   The media of film is neither good or bad, it is how it is used.  The same can probably be said of computer games.  They can  be a tremendous teaching tool.  Useful skill sets can be developed and useful learnings imbibed.  At the same time they can teach to kill , maim, hate and devalue human life.  In these cases, it is not the medium that is sus, but the way it is used.
I suppose the same can be said of most things. The use of somethings can be a teaching curve when used and discarded.  The same thing can be a source of entrapment when used and embraced.  Time will tell the fruit of an activity.
I want time to tell in a good way on activities I choose. Whether it is work, rest or play, time is sure to tell if my growth has been a good or bad thing for myself and others. I know my life is full of choices.  I choose to make good choices.
