The Shed

Yesterday was one of those days I look forward to, but I am glad when it is over.
Early I wanted to check that charging the car battery all night had worked.  It had and the car started first go.  I also wanted to check the spa had not leaked and it had been fixed as the repair man had said it was.  Merril had filled the spa with water and added some of what was needed (we picked up the rest in the afternoon.)  Not a leak in sight.
Good start.
I then got together with someone who I get together with most Wednesdays.  Although I volunteer, he is my boss.  Most of what we discussed was ok.  There was stuff to do that was added and one item elicited as far bit of discussion and we tried to work through a solution.
A friend was then coming with a truck to collect a dismantled shed we had bought online.  This was the thing I was most excited about.  We were getting it second hand for $150 when we had thought it would maybe cost several hundred to custom make one the way we wanted it.  This was what we wanted for a fraction of the price.
I have a faith I do not talk about much.  I am happy to talk about such things if wanted.  Anyway, the shed had been claimed but I really felt it was the right one.  So I prayed the person who claimed it would not turn up.  They didn’t.  Hence we picked it up.
It turned out the guy selling the shed had the same surname as our truck driver.  It was discovered the guys dad shared the same first name as our truck driver.  Discussions revealed there was no obvious link but all of us were happy campers.  The seller was glad the shed was gone and we were glad to get what we were after (he even took $50 off the price as he saw something I struggled to see).  That was the highlight of my day.  I was remaining silent until we had it, as my thinking is I do not have it until I have it.
The other activities were the usual including a sleep and then going out in the evening.  We were home in time to see Australia go down in the soccer.  That was a downer, but I am really thankful my happiness does not depend on what I cannot control.
Sometimes things go well and sometimes they go badly but I have been doing an experiment of late.  Looking for good even in bad.  It is there.  It has never not been the case since I started looking.
Getting the shed was one of those things that went well.
