The Markets

27/5/2019

It is a tradition. Well it is now as we have done it twice.
We like to go to the markets when we are here. We do make sure that we only go to them when they are on. There would probably be no value in turning up when they are not on. One good thing though, we would probably have the place to ourselves. We could perhaps arrive the day before and ensure we got a good parking spot but that is probably not worth it.
There are many plants for sale at this market. It is not as big as the Caboolture Market. We can walk up and down each isle in no time. One thing they do allow there that I am not real keen on, is dogs on leads. They come in all shapes and sizes. The dogs and the owners.
A bad thing in my mind is the limited seating places. We like to buy brekky there which we did this time, and retreated to eat it in our car.
After that I needed to go to the lu. I thought I would ask a stall holder where one was. He came out to me and pointed and said “you can see it from here.” That is so not what I was wanting to hear. We decided it was better to visit the place while we were there, so we set off on our journey. We met different people along the way, and getting there was an adventure in itself. Like I would not have known one of the car park attendants name was Joyce if not for that.
Upon our return we went around the perimeter of the markets again. What is a tradition is getting an orchid. There is a lady that sells them that was there last time and there again this time. Her value is so much better than in Brisbane. We love them (the orchids that is. We love the lady and her husband too but in a different kind of way). Orchids in Brisbane cost a fortune. When we see them at a reasonable price we get them. We chose one we do not have (which is like heaps) and got it. It will go into our “orchid house.” That is basically our green house which we have given over to orchids.
We had had enough by this time. The good thing about holidays, is that a person does not need to rush anywhere.
I had heard about a good place to fish while here. We went there and Merril mostly took photo’s, while I fished. There were a lot of people there in boats so I thought I might be on to something. Turned out no one was catching anything except small ones. I did not need to travel to do that.
On the way home we did some shopping.
That was our adventure for the day. We retreated to our unit after that. We were going to have a spa but had not read the instructions. The water was so cold we did not want to go there. Watching TV is a great stand by.
