testing things

It is interesting (well it is to me).
Everyone has their own belief system.  I have mine and I don’t expect all to agree with me and that is ok.  What matters big time to me is the person.  Ok we might disagree strongly on a point but I have found so often there is much we agree on and can learn from one another if we are open to it. 
What scares me most is when I hear people say “shoot the lot of them.”  They mostly say this because the person does not see things the way they do.  Twenty years down the track it is too late for the shot people for the perpetrator to say “woops, I was wrong.”  A bad thing also to me is the person so set in their ways that they reject anyone who does not agree with them and only gather around them folk that re-inforce their belief system.  To me it is not the way to grow or learn.
I believe that what we believe needs to be tested.  A definition of insanity I have heard is doing something the same way and expecting different results.  If it cannot stand testing it should be disregarded in my mind.
However sometimes I just don’t know.  That does not mean I will accept a flawed alternative view. Sometimes I just accept that I am ignorant to the answer.
A quote I like says there are many voices in the world and all are significant.
I believe what I believe.  If a proven alternative presents itself it must be considered and embraced if it withstands all testing.
