Tell it Like it is

Maybe it does not go for everyone, but it does for me.  I find it really embarrassing if I have been perceived to have done the wrong thing, to have it declared to all and sundry.
What I way prefer is to be told my error by someone just quietly.  That way, if I have done the wrong thing, I can correct it while minimizing the fall out.
I have seen it done where someone did the wrong thing and everyone around them knew it.  Too bad that they did not know it before.  They knew it after it had been declared.  The esteem a person is held in is likely diminished as a result.  For sure it is never enhanced.  I know I do not like feeling a centimeter tall, and I doubt anyone else does.
Even saying that, I do not fall into the trap of thinking “everyone knows.”  Chances are very few people know.  I reckon the less the better.
To me there are things that are wrong that need to be dealt with.  I see it as a process.  If one on one something is acknowledged and dealt with, well and good.  Often though that is not the case.  In that case I would have someone with me the next time.
To me it is important the person I am talking to does not see something I hold to as “just me.”  My perception can be coloured.  Often if more than one person holds to the same thing, there is a good chance that is the way it is.
The next step for me if someone will not accept what is obvious to others, I will (if it is necessary and in the right forum) declare what I think is correct before a number of people.  Perhaps that will cause a light bulb to go on in another.  That is sort of rare though, as if a person will not accept something from a couple of people, they are unlikely to accept it from a number.
In that case the person is really working against what the organization holds to.  Their stand and that of the organization are incompatible.  It is probably best I then have nothing to do with that person while I represent the organization, and it is probably best for everyone they desist representing the organization.  It really only takes one to soil the whole organization.
I think of Covid19.  We are intent on social distancing.  It is because rubbing shoulders with one person who has the virus, can have the virus spread like wildfire through the community.  We isolate the person.  The intent is they get over the problem and come back into the community.
Isolation is par for the course for all outbreaks.  I do not see why it would not be the same when what someone says or does is diametrically opposed to an organization they purport to be a part of.
I have been in charge of an organization and although change may be necessary being white-anted from within is always undesirable.  To me the same applies weather it is one or one hundred – confrontation needs to be a last resort rather than a first option.
To me, outside of an organization someone is entitled to a totally different world view.  Once an organization is joined, its worldview is represented or changed quietly, rather than before all and sundry.  I need to stand for, or leave, or never be a part of the organization in the first place.
