Storms Pass

It does seem sad to me to see some people live in the past to the point that something that happened 40 years ago is what they refer to as seemingly the last significant event to happen to them.  I have seen it.
I reckon there are great things that can have happened in the past.  For me getting married was significant.  Moving to Brisbane was significant.  Being born was significant and it seems that was the start of it all!  Being born again was significant.
But yesterday was had trees removed.  They were trees we knew would cause damage if they stayed where they were.  We loved them as did the Lorikeets, but they were in the wrong place and had to go.  Getting a dead tree cut down yesterday too was significant.
I have really reached the stage that if someone else can do it, go ahead.  I know I still can, but the aches and pains and tiredness that comes with it do not seem worth it.  Lol reminds me of something I read.  “I was you, you will be me.”
Anyway beside the point.  I am very much into, while being thankful for the good things of the past, living life on a “best is yet to be” basis.  It is a given that life is a certain amount inspiration and a certain amount perspiration.  Some things I enjoy doing and some things just have to be done.
No matter the case, I do not know the moment the inspiration will hit.  A variation on one of my favourite sayings is from a song, “at a common place, I find meaning there.”  What that says for me is that I live each day doing what I gotta do in expectation.  Every storm passes.  While things may be tough right now, they will not be tough forever.
I guess it is a variation of the old saying “hang in there Friday is coming.”  For me it is “hang in there, good times are coming.”  It is weird but of late it is very real to me the depth of the valley gives an indication of the height of the mountain.
So I guess I am thankful for the past and now, and excited about the future.
