Storm

Two days ago we had a storm here the like of which I have never seen before.
We were in church in the morning and when the service finished and I looked outside a storm could be seen to be on its way.  It looked savage.  It sounded savage.  The difference I had never heard before was the thunder was continuous.  There was no stop.  In previous times I had seen lightning then counted to know how far away it was.  This time the thunder just sounded like continuous rumblings.
And it was green.  I had heard there is hail in green and I thought there is hail there.  Merril and I had ordered fish to pick up.  I had a nice chat with the people serving and one had said he had just looked up the bom to see the storm coming.
We got our fish and drive home.  We parked the car and no sooner went inside then it started.  There were clunks to start with then numerous clunks on the roof.  Hail.  Large hail.  Hail like I had never seen before.  Then wind.  Ferocious wind.  And horizontal rain.  22 mil. In about 30 minutes.
We have a large tree in the yard.  It is that I watch all the time.  It stood up to the onslaught well.  Apart from carpet in our sitting area being wet we came out of it well.  I must admit I do pray about such things.  Things happen I know but so does protection.  I was grateful.
It came and went.  I wondered about our solar panels with the hail but ours and all the neighbours seem to be ok.
The only tie I don’t mind storms is when I am in an apartment and nothing can fall on us.  In our area we tend to miss the worst of the storms.  We still get good rain but so often storms divide before they get here.
Not every time though.  Not this time.  But as they say, we weathered the storm.
