Storing

Spring, summer and autumn time need not be wasted time.  As in every season there is reason to rest, but it is important to me to use the non-winter months to prepare for winter.  It is a principle seen in nature.  Bears get enough to eat so they can last through the hibernation of winter.  Squirrels store nuts for winter.  Some birds fly north or south for the winter (depending on the hemisphere they are in)
I do not know what the future holds but I do know I do not want to run out of what I need.  That does not mean I will store up food or petrol because running out of them would be out of the blue and an unexpected thing.
But what I do feel is I should store up the things I know that if they disappeared, I would be in trouble on a personal level.  Truths that matter.  Truths that may seem distant in the throws of winter but remain true whatever the season.
These are the things I feel matter the most.  Shelter is good for a lifetime.  Air is good for this planet.  Food provides for one aspect of my nature but not what I consider is the main aspect.  I know I may not know what the future holds but I do know I need to prepare for the future.  There are things that are consistent over the centuries.  Autumn has always been followed by winter.  There has always been good times and hard times.  As the song says to everything there is a season.
I would be foolish not to prepare.  Just like I would be foolish not to not have contingency plans for other areas in my life.  Things may be expected or unexpected, but they should never take me by complete surprise as long as I acknowledge the reality of them and prepare for them as best I know how and can.
I will enjoy spring and summer and autumn.  I reckon the only way for me to enjoy the dormancy of winter is to have made provision for it in the abundance of spring and summer and autumn.
My aim is to not be caught short for this life or the next.
