Steady as She Goes

Today will be an action day but in a restrained manner.
I have learned that I can only work one day and need to rest the next.  Added to that is the operation I recently had where I was told to be quiet for four to six weeks (I am settling for five weeks).  Merril said it was important I did refrain from heavy lifting as it is so difficult to fix the area operated on if instructions are not followed.
Often I am inclined to do my own thing.  Follow instructions loosely.  Not this time though.  I have tried not to stretch boundaries as the implications have been too serious.   I have refrained from cutting back trees even though they need doing.  At times I have had to be willing to feel like a wimp and let others lift what I would normally lift – just to be on the safe side.
I have though done what I felt it was safe to do.  As has been stated often, I have been working my way around the yard tidying and making new.  I have enjoyed doing that and Merril has commented that it feels like a new place.  The garden at the back has been done as has the shed.  So much of what I do I do wanting Merril to be happy with the results and for the area to be practical for her to use.
Thursday I worked on an area we store things that do not belong under cover or indoors.  We had been reluctant to walk there as it was overgrown and a sort of scary place.  I took it one step at a time dealing with each situation I came across.  I finished up in a garden bed originally intended for veges.  We soon discovered veges were not idea in such a situation.  Now we will plant a couple of citrus trees there.
After that our wood pile needs dealing with.  Until I am well that will stay undone but there is plenty of other stuff that can be done.
