Steady as She Goes

28/6/2024

Yesterday was a “steady as she goes” day.
As it was nearing the end of the month, we wanted to take any “Containers for Cash” we had to deposit.  We are breaking records at the moment – at the wrong end.  We did not have much to take for the month.  If it was not for a new person that has come on board who is a chef, we would have hardly had anything.
We then visited that great Australian institution called Bunnings to pick up some industrial Velcro.  We have plans for its use in our vehicle.
Anyway we did that and then we had banking to do.  So we went to Morayfield shopping centre and did that.  We saw someone we know and had a chat. We then took the occasion to get some groceries we needed.  I was pleasantly surprised at the price of some things so took the opportunity to get more than I have been inclined to of late.
After that we went and looked at combined washer/driers.  We though as it is the end of the financial year, we would get things we needed cheaper than normal.  We got one and it is being delivered on Monday.  There is stuff we need to do to make room for storing it but that is all planned for.
After that we went and picked up a second-hand item we wanted to hold.  Getting it we saw people we were really happy to talk to.  We took the opportunity to get a load of free bread at the same time.
That basically covered the things we wanted to do while out.
As is our custom we had a rest after lunch.
We then unloaded the car and set up some things.  Merril has said I am like an energiser bunny of late.  I must admit I am into what needs to be done.   A lot has been completed and a lot remains.  It will happen, but we have made a start and I often find that is the hardest part.
