Start out Small

Did you miss me?  Oh, you did not notice I was gone.
Well I have been incognito lately.  I have put off things, and spent a lot of time staring meaningfully into the middle distance.  That was when I was not in bed.  I like to call it “being an under-cover agent.”  Works for me.
I am going to the doctor this week to get a referral.  I have an infection and he wants to compare this lot of blood tests with the last.  See if there is any change. That is ok with me.  Needles are way better than they used to be.  Maybe it only seemed they were as long as a house, but they were long and painful.  There is even a word for the fear of needles – trypanophobia.   It is no problem for me though, as I am incredibly brave.  Would you believe a little bit brave? Ok, I have heard of being brave.
The trouble for me is, I have been missing out on Facebook posts, tv and church.  I get inspiration to write from these.  I have been grasping at straws recently.  Instead of a smorgasbord of ideas, I have been feeding off really slim pickings, or getting what falls to the floor. Still, where there is a will there is a way.  As is always the case, I will take what I can get.  As the ad says “from little things, big things grow.”  I can only hope that is true.
My experience seems to suggest though, that that is true.  Any idea I have had, is mostly not a big light bulb, triumphant music sort of moment.  Most things start small. I am sure there would be a wise old Indian saying, or Chinese proverb, that would fit.  Arr yes, Mao said something like, “the longest journey begins with a single step.”  I am sure that implies big things start out small.  Just start it with “grasshopper” and talk in a strange voice, and the picture would be complete to me.
Still, I suppose this is better than information overload.  I so don’t want to be walking into walls saying “does not compute, does not compute.”  Just appearing normal is enough for me.  I don’t think people are looking at me twice going “what the…”  But then, I really do not know that is not the case.  Still, the evidence suggests I appear normal, as I walk about and do things like get more milk and bread.  I am even using the electronic check outs at the super markets. Mostly the device does not flash red and call for assistance.  It has, but mostly it doesn’t.
I don’t want people on to me.  The last thing I need is a machine drawing attention to me with a red flashing “does not compute, does not compute.”
