Thank you to those who expressed concern for the health of Merril and I.  We are both good thank you.  Merril came down with a cold that laid her low for a few days.  She started to feel better Saturday afternoon, but Monday was the first day she arose without symptoms.
She did call to me though like a damsel in distress.  I go there brave and heroic on the outside but inside is a different story.  I wonder what I will be confronted with.
There was a huge spider in the bedroom and what’s worse it was next to the shoe she was about to put on.  We have a philosophy at our place.  Outside is theirs.  If they are not what we consider dangerous spiders, they are free to roam.  Inside however is ours and if they are in our territory and we cannot get to them to put them out, there is a good chance what they had in mind to do does not get done.  We take no pleasure in their demise and we always apologise.  But if there, it is better for them we do not know it.
I guess I am scarred for life by the memory of a mate of mine waking up to find large legs emerging from his mouth.
Less than a week ago a large spider emerged from the kitchen while I was watching tv.  He was big and quick.  He was in the middle of the floor so I looked for a large book to throw on him.  I found a huge dictionary and if I had got him he may have died a very knowledgeable spider.  But alas my lob miss.  He was startled though and ran under the table.  I thought I will keep an eye on him there.  And I did until he disappeared.  I have no idea where he went.  Good on him I reckon.
I was actually bitten by a biggy one time.  I so do not blame him and I reckon I would have done the same.  He was in my shoe when I put it on.  He was hard against the end of it and I felt the bite through my sock.  I thought (and I know I am not the sharpest tool in the shed) there is a spider there.  So I went to the balcony and emptied out my shoe.  Sure enough he emerged, and he went his way and I went mine.
Another time I really reckon I was protected.  I went to put on my shoe and thought “that is a weird web.”  So I used a sock to bring to light what my be there and a red back had made its home in my shoe.
The shoe experiences were in the first place I bought.  It was near bushland and it was there I saw the biggest spider I have ever seen.  The next day he was gone.  That was downstairs and I lived upstairs.
Mostly we co-exist.  As long as they stay outside, and are not a dangerous sort, they are safe.
