Spicy
If variety is the spice of life, my life this week-end was pretty spicy.
It started on the Saturday with the Bunnings bbq.  As mentioned Merril and I had prepared 30kgs of onions and were there early Saturday morning to help set up.  The roster had been organized and people turned up and some stayed longer to help out.  Merril and I visited the place again at lunch time to ensure all was going well, which it was.
On the Saturday evening Merril and I set up our church following a get together that was held there in the afternoon.  That was really good, and all was set for the Sunday.
We had said we would not be there on the Sunday, as we were heading to the Sunshine coast.  We were attending a church up there with a mate and celebrating a birthday.  I thought it was really interesting in that the church we visited was born of the church I attended for a number of years in Townsville.  At the time it was the biggest church there and had grown to around 1,000.
I will never forget that because it was a defence town (a big army contingent along with air force personnel) we would generally have a 30% turn over year on year.  One of my best mates was a guy in the army.
It has now spread out to have congregations in centres as diverse as London, Port Morsby, South Africa and at various locations around Australia.  I really enjoyed the service and felt very much at home.
Lunch was good too.  Both Merril and I had enough for doggy bags, and that was dinner in the evening.
This is later than normal because of a Monday morning Merril and I generally start the day real early.  We actually had some things to get also so we went to a Bunnings in Redcliffe.  What we were after had not been at Morayfield.
We got what we needed and are home again for the day.  There are things we want to get done but have decided that rather than making it a pressure situation like “I have to,” we will make it a “I want to, day” and see what transpires.
