Soldier On

Monty Python had a record called “The Contractual Obligation” album.  By that they meant they were expected to produce an album say once a year (I found that one really funny).  They obviously enjoyed doing it and the name was a part of their humour.
I enjoy what I am doing but I understand their title.  I have made a commitment to write and post something every day.  There are times I approach it wondering what is going to be written about.  I need not concern myself though, as something always comes up.
I have been doing this for years and the only time I have not done it was when someone close passed.  I have generally told people I would be giving it a break for a few days.
There are a few reasons I have done it.  One is it keeps me on the lookout.  I really do not want to miss stuff important to me.  Often it is something seemingly simple.  Yet so often I find the simple is profound (for me anyway, and profound is like next level for me and I am as surprised as anyone)
There are times I want to explore a concept.  You readers are the recipients of my musings.  Often what I put on paper is my initial thoughts on a subject which get built on by the input of others.
Another reason is I want to be a man of my word.  I want people to know when I say something I mean it.  If I say I will then I will.  It seems to me reliability is lacking these days and causes all sorts of disillusionment.  I try not to be the reason for it.  Things happen and I need to explain why I have tried and cannot, but failing that, then to the best of my ability it will happen.
Today I have come at it from a “what will I write about today?”  As usual just having thought about things has been good.
