Smarter not Harder

This has been an interesting exercise.  I have had to work smarter rather than harder.  As most know I had my gall bladder out on the 22nd of March.  I am not allowed to lift anything heavy for 4-6 weeks.  I have made it five weeks or till the end of April.
Yet there is heaps around the place I have in mind to do.  Some for sure is put on hold.  It feels awkward needing others to do what I would have done.  Yet it has been a great opportunity to have others involved.
I am amazed at how inventive I can be.  Doing things that need doing without lifting excessively.
There were a couple of things I had in mind to do.  One was to make my room a place I wanted to be.  Testament to that is it is where I am right now.  I used to type in a different place but have gone through this room and set it up.
Much that is for us both was in my room and still is.  I did move the office stuff.  We have a laminator, shredder, hole punch, large cutter and a number of other things.  They have gone to another place that was available. 
Also there is a bookshelf that was emptied and the books kept are now on another shelf that was available.  It was the bookshelf that showed me how easy it was to move things without the need to lift.  It was a case of moving and using its own weight to move it.  It has now gone to a better place.
After that it was a matter of having a big tidy up and rearrange.  I bravely went to new places.  I did hit my head a couple of times when under the desk rearranging the electric chords.  I also showed I know which end of a vacuum to hold.
I now have my portable piano in my room next to me.  I can listen to music and charge things.  Basically I am a happy camper.
To end the day I burned off papers.  Last time I could not get the fire going for some reason.  Not so yesterday.  I had a wry smile to myself as I missed throwing stuff in from incredibly close.  Still I got done what I had in mind to do.
Today I have in mind to do something that requires doing on the computer.   I do not necessarily feel like doing it but it needs doing and I have told others today it will be done.  So today it will be done God willing.
