The following is by a guy called James Clear.  I get a regular email from him called 3-2-1.  It contains 3 ideas from him, 2 quotes from others and one question to consider.  Many times I do not look at it.  But I looked at it today and liked what I saw.  What is cited are the three ideas from him.
"The will to win is wasted if it is directed towards trivial affairs."
“Be great in small ways.
Writing 100 words today doesn’t seem worthwhile when you see people publishing bestsellers.  Exercising for 10 minutes doesn’t seem valuable when you see world records posted on Instagram.  But winning the next 10 minutes is its own form of greatness.
People are so busy wishing for more time and better resources that they fail to make the most of the time and resources they have. Be great in small ways and you may be surprised by what you've achieved within a year or two.”
“Most good material is forgotten.
Write down the funniest or most interesting thing that happens to you each day. Most days will be boring, but if you write something each day, then you'll have 5 to 10 entertaining stories within a year or two. People are sitting on more funny stories than they realize because they do not have a habit of capturing humorous things as they happen.
Write down one idea each day. Most ideas will be simple and uninteresting, but within a year you'll have a handful that are compelling and useful. Little bits of genius are bubbling up all the time, but you need a habit of recording your ideas in order to capture the good ones.
It's a myth that great storytellers only think of great stories or that insightful people only have brilliant ideas. But they do have a habit of capturing their experiences and insights, and the patience to filter the majority until the best remain.”
I can vouch for what is said above.  As most know I write one article each day and post it.  I know most are an exercise in writing.  I do research and write.  But at other times it is like the words come thick and fast and I have trouble keeping up with what I am seeing or feeling.
I don’t know when inspiration will hit.  But I am happy to slug away.
The thing is I honestly cannot pick what will impact.  I remember public speaking one time and I thought that is the worst I have ever done.  I had someone come up to me and say that is the best they have ever heard.  Go figure.
I just write my thoughts and experiences.  Sometimes they are relatable and sometimes they are not.  But I do know they are always relatable to me.  Even when I write about something that is a word from the dictionary or something mundane that I have experienced, I know the exercise does me good.
I research and often draw on my memory bank.  I think about things I may not have thought about in decades.
One thing is very obvious to me as a result of this.  Everything I experience is significant to me from the mundane to the extraordinary.  Everything I experience goes to make up me.  Sometimes it is only by digging I recover its value.
