Slow and Steady

Yesterday was my day off.  I had yard work I wanted to get done.  Getting rid of the big tree has prompted big changes to the back yard.  I am in the process of making the changes.
What I have in mind to do does seem to grow.  I have seen other related things I want to do but right now I am concentrating on setting up our new area.
I started the day though having breaky with a mate at a local shop.   It was really enjoyable and what I considered a good way to start the day.   He did send a text late that night though to say he was in hospital (it definitely was not the food) having tests done and asking for prayer.
The work that I did though was not stuff that made for an instant visual change.  I had to get rid of heaps of stones so I could lay pavers.  Putting them down involved leveling things up as well.  And the paves were huge and heavy.  I did get it done though and there is only one paver I would like to do again today.
I managed to set up an area for an umbrella we ordered.  I wanted Merril around to put in the umbrella.  She was giving a presentation (which went very well) and was available in the afternoon.
Probably the most finicky thing was setting up the wood for putting our elkhorn on.  The elkhorn was rescued from our tree and hopefully will be placed today.
I also discovered a stump that was too close to our greenhouse to grind.  I have the axe out to deal with that.  Speaking of grinding up, we have a pile of mulch that was a result of the grinding.  That needs to be carted off and placed where we want it.
All in all a good day’s work and I hope to spend a few hours on the yard again today.
