Silver Lining

​Brisbane had major fireworks.  It was to do with the Brisbane Ekka.  It is mostly on-line this year and city folk need to go to the farm rather than the farm coming to us.  Or else drive though the actual site.  There are food stuffs available that can be delivered to the car.
It is great to me to see the thinking outside the box.  No one likes this Covid-19.  To a person we would prefer it was not there.  But it is.  There is a lot of thinking that is different that makes the most of the new reality.
That is one of the reasons I really like the fireworks.  There is so much doom and gloom.  It would be so easy to only immerse myself in that.  There is enough that is wrong to keep me going.  But fireworks say to me, “lets celebrate despite the dire circumstances.”  It seems to me Oprah was right when she said, “The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”
There is no doubt I could concentrate only on the problems at hand.  There may not be much to celebrate but to me there is always something to celebrate.  I guess it is the old silver lining thing.
This is new, but it is not reason for me to be only morose.  All that can be done needs to be done, but continuing to do what is needed, there is also a need to look beyond the problem.  There is no doubt in my mind there are always problems, and I can choose to do what I will anytime.
But I reckon there is always something to celebrate.  There is a time and a place for everything.  Sometimes is not the right time to celebrate.  But thankfully, sometimes it is.  I reckon I need to be ready.  I do not want the opportunity to pass me by as I was so busy looking at the problem, I did not see the chance to celebrate.
Admittedly it seems right now reasons to celebrate are few and far between.  But that does not mean there are none.  The fireworks were a chance to celebrate for me.  We have friends who went and saw them physically happening.  They were available to be seen on tv and that is where most viewed them.
Things are bad.  Never have I been so acutely aware of negative numbers.  But there are reasons to celebrate.  Merril and I were listing some positives from this event.  Admittedly there are a huge amount of negatives, but there are positives.  They just need to be found.  I reckon I’m up for it.
