Sheep

Sheep
This counting sheep thing is overrated.  That is my experience anyway.  Oh it starts well enough.  67, 68, 69.  And then a Llama appears.  And I need to get them all back and start again.  With the Llama out of the mix.  But as soon as my back is turned, he joins the que again.  I can get to 104, 105, 106 and then you guessed it.  A Llama.
It is not like I cannot tell the difference.  My vast experience makes that easy.  Llamas tend to be bigger and have longer necks.  I am saying stuff with authority hoping you think I might know what I am talking about.
The thing about the Llama too is it does not jump the fence like all the sheep do.  It runs straight into the fence.  I need to fix it every time. The structure is more metal than wood these days.  Good thing the Llama does not appear to hurt himself.  Though he does look somewhat dazed.  But I hold his head then hold up three fingers.  He tells me via counting out on his foot that I am holding up five and I say close enough and send him away.
I probably would not be having the trouble I am if I did not send him back to the line.  Every time he re-joins it and I can see trouble coming.  Well maybe not see it but I get a vague feeling I may live to regret the decision.
It is probably natural to be wondering where I get my vast knowledge of sheep.  I’ve seen heaps.  Not literally.  But lots.  Mostly they are spread out over hills and I am going by in the car.  It takes a discerning eye I know, but I recognize they are not Woolly Mammoths.  Wooolly Mammoths are bigger.  And extinct.  That is the only way I know of to tell the difference.
It is understandable people could confuse them as they both have wool.  For some reason though a group of Woolly Mammoths is known to as a herd.  But a group of sheep is known as a flock.  No one ever sees a flock of Woolly Mammoths.  Even if they were not extinct a person would be told “that is not a flock, it is a herd.”
Just as well I am from the country.  There are not many sheep in towns.  Especially not flocks of them.  I have seen one on a property adjoining mine.  I was so surprised to see him.  I think the owner must have got him to keep the grass down.
Reminded me of the lawyer who saw a guy eating grass by the side of the road.  He stopped because he was willing to give the guy a place to stay.  The guy said thank you he would, but he had his wife and kids with him.  Their heads appeared in the grass.  The lawyer said they could come too.  In the car the guy was full of thanks and the lawyer said no worries you should see the grass at my place.
Anyway these sheep are a problem.  I am having to use the same fingers and toes multiple times.
